Pastor's Thoughts: September

Fall is such a wonderful time of year. I love it when the first cold fronts sweep through, knocking down the humidity and bringing that fresh, crisp air. While we still have a little summer left, once September arrives, it always feels like the season has shifted, and we are headed toward fall.

Church family, I am so encouraged by the way God is at work in our congregation. Lately, I’ve sensed a new spirit of unity and harmony that can only be explained by His hand at work. I’ve never been part of a church where the body is so united. It’s beautiful to see our members loving one another and building each other up. God is truly doing great things at New Hope, and I am excited for the future He has in store for us.

If you haven’t heard, New Hope has entered into a partnership with Ryan Lindsey, an IMB missionary serving in Northern England. Through this partnership, we’ve connected with Hope Church in Easingwold, led by Pastor Edward Fenning. He is eager to partner with us in gospel work.

We are planning our first mission trip to Hope Church in July 2026. To help us prepare, we’ll hold an interest meeting on Sunday, October 19, after morning worship. If you’re curious about the trip—whether you feel called to go or simply want to learn more—please make plans to attend. Coming to the meeting does not commit you to the trip, but it will give you the information you need to pray and consider your role.

Missions is always a church-wide calling. Some will go, some will give, and all of us can pray. I encourage you to begin seeking the Lord now about how He would have you be part of this exciting opportunity.

Thank You for all that You are doing at New Hope. We pray that You continue to work in Your church for Your glory. We ask that You build up New Hope so that we can continue to do the ministry that You have for us to do, both here in our community and around the world. I pray that You continue to build up the unity in our church. Father, help us to be united in Christ and Him alone. We ask for Your Spirit to lead us as we engage in missions.
