About Us

Matthew 28:18-20: "And Jesus came and said to them, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.'”

The mission of NHBC is founded in the Great Commission given by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We believe that the church belongs to Him and, as His disciples, we follow what Christ would have us do as a church. The command in the Great Commission that is clear is that as Jesus' disciples we are to make disciples. Jesus, in the Great Commission, gives the church three primary methods of making disciples.

First, the church is to make disciples by going to all nations. This is the church's essential call to missions. The church has the responsibility to ensure that disciples are being made all over the world.

Second, the church is to make disciples by baptizing new disciples in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is the church's calling to evangelism. Those who are to be baptized are those who have heard the gospel of Jesus Christ and have responded with faith and repentance.

Third, the church is to make disciples by teaching disciples all that Jesus has commanded. Jesus is calling the church to discipleship. The church is responsible for ensuring that disciples are made and mature in the faith.

Therefore, NHBC strives to be a church that makes disciples through engaging in missions, proclaiming the gospel and baptizing, and teaching God's Word so that disciples at NHBC grow and mature in the faith.
